Similar to KVM without a monitor. My monitor supports three inputs so I don't need full KVM. I use this switch to connect between my main computer, server and laptop. They switch easily between Windows 7, Server 2012 and OSX. I don't have to disable anything. They share a gaming mouse and mechanical keyboard via a USB hub connected to this switch. The USB hub is powered. With computers, it's like plugging and unplugging USB devices every time you switch them. The switch itself is powerless. When switching to a computer, the LED on the switch lights up only when the computer is on. The button on the switch also makes a nice click. Keep in mind that this is a switch, so only one computer can use the connected USB devices at a time. This switch is very good for casual use. Maybe you don't like changing every minute.
