I LOVE this camera. I bought it for my granddaughter to use. She is 4 years old and loves to use her mother's camera. She's about to have a new little brother and she wanted something of her own. It takes clear pictures and is easy to use (even for me). This requires 4 AA batteries, two on each side. Do not confuse battery covers. They only fit on the right side. It has a dual viewfinder that lets her look through it like binoculars, so she doesn't have to squint in one spot. It's the right size for young hands and while I'm sure it's fragile, it feels sturdy. After the picture is taken, it's easy to view it on the screen. There are fun ways to take selfies and photos of friends that kids will love that are easy to flip through and delete. Mom and Dad can add a memory card or just use the camera's memory and the included cable to connect to Mom's computer. There is a place where she can do both digital voice recording and video. I've read some concerns about gaming, but I love gaming in general. These are simple simple games that will actually improve some of their motor skills (imo). Interesting enough that she wants to play them sometimes, but not too exciting. Ideal for holiday occasions when no photos are being taken but the child needs something to keep them busy (e.g. on the bus or train. Why bring an extra toy?). You can disable them in the settings if you wish. The games give you the option to switch controls or tilt the entire block right, left, up, or down. Did I mention the pink design I chose is adorable and my granddaughter will love it? on the side (or you can get camera straps that wrap around your neck and hook into either side for just a few bucks, which I will) Overall I say GREAT! If you're unhappy about this purchase, jump in. i like this thing I was worried about setting it up for them but there is NOTHING about it. Even the least tech-savvy Grudma can handle it. Definitely anyone who has used a digital camera.
