I have a 26" chaparral that is always anchored. No longer. Be sure to inform people in the boat before throwing it away as it will grab the boat and stop abruptly. It's pretty hard, but not bad. It actually folds up nicely to store in a small compartment. However, pulling up is difficult! You need strength! This is because it doesn't move, so you'll be dragging the boat to the anchor. Once you're almost directly over it, you can easily release it by pulling straight up. Also, it's flat on top so it's not aerodynamic when it hits the surface, which improves your workout.
