Review on 🌲 Sustainable Acacia Wood Cutting Board with Juice Groove and Sorting Compartment - Sonder Los Angeles (16x12x1.5 in) - Gift Box Included by Matt Crawford

The cutting board is beautiful and strong, deserves 5 stars in itself, but it was our experience with the company that made me write a review. First the board: the color you see in the picture is very accurate and the acacia wood is of high quality. As stated in the description, it works as both a cutting board and a cheese or snack display. We try to only cut from the correct side to keep the display side clean. Due to the dark wood, the cuts left by the knives leave some light marks which I noticed, but that's mainly because the wood is so damn beautiful I was embarrassed to cut it! The color of the side of the cutting board did lighten a bit as we used it more, but this was easily restored with a little mineral oil, as recommended by Tarek of Sonder LA. (more on that below). The fingers on the side are deep enough to provide a good grip if you need to carry it around while food is on it. We like it so much that we've decided that once it's cleaned it will have a permanent place on our counter. Company: When we first received the board, we noticed a small crack in one of the long wooden slats on the side of the cutting board. It was very small and was in the forest itself and not in the gaps between the logs. I wanted to request and return through Amazon, but as a small business owner I would have preferred someone to speak to me directly. So I decided to text them directly. I told them there was a small crack and I wasn't sure if they would prefer me to use Revain or if they could help me. They responded very quickly and were very grateful that I took the time to email directly. Tarek quickly solved my problem and sent me a new board. He was delighted to hear how much I appreciated the board and I could easily see how proud he was of his company and product. A few days later I had a question about proper board care (I never thought I would take care of a cutting board like this to care for it properly) and he answered with the same enthusiasm and joy. If you are looking for a high quality, beautiful chopping board that can also be the centerpiece of a grocery display or just stand on a countertop because it is beautiful, then this board is for you. Add to that the company's obvious appreciation for their work and customers, and it makes it even better. Thank you Tarek!
