Bridgestone E6 Balls

As we age, golf balls just don't fly as far as they did when we were young. So life is. I switched from a high spin ball (Bridgeston 330 and Pro V1x) about a year and a half ago. The truth is, even with a 9 handicap, I don't need that many spins around the greens. And I really don't want that to be taken off the shirt. I started with Titleist NXT Tour and then Titleist Velocity. Everyone is looking for more distance. Found it with Velocity but struggled with the greens. The ball is very hard (read hard). Decided to try these e6s mainly because of the reviews in Golf Digest. Here's what I found: e6 is a low spin ball from the driver. They roll out as much, if not more, than the Velocity. For me they are as long as all "pro" balls. On soft greens you can turn them enough to hit and stay. But I can't reject her. I don't care. A typical 7 iron hits and jumps maybe 20 inches forward. The delivery wedge will stop within 5 inches of the ball mark. Your experience may vary. I've been playing in Texas all summer and these are the results of 10 rounds of play in August and September. If you play on the softer fields to the north, you can probably reverse them. If that's what you want Here's what I wasn't sure about: It's a 50 compression ball. I thought they were short. They are definitely not short. my iron too. With irons and hybrids, however, they appear "soft as butter". Of course I play with forged irons. But when you hit the sweet spot with your irons, they just feel soft. If you're old enough to remember balat balls, then you know what they look like. I can easily get two 18s out of the ball if I keep it away from the cart tracks and the trees. They don't scratch easily, but get pretty "tired" when caring for them. 36. I haven't tried them in a while, they're not that expensive, less than $3 a skein. Note: I have no idea how these "2015" balls differ from previous years. This is the only "year" I've tried. This one is a guardian for me. Yes, I wish it had a slightly less bright aligner than the e6 logo and big arrow. But I'm used to it.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Hard to say
