Seachem reliable brand. I was dying to use Purigen/Matrix in the 1 gallon mini Betta aquarium I was building for my son, but the filter is so small there was just no real option to buy and use Purigen/Matrix. That was until I read another review that talked about making your own filter bags. So I did. I measured out the space for a custom filter, bought a bag filter, cut it to size and used the heat seal function of my vacuum food sealer to create the perfect Purigen/Matrix mini filter that doesn't leak any Purigen material. A bag will probably give me 4-5 custom filters or more. A 100ml sachet of Purigen contains enough Purigen material for my needs. While The Bag and Purigen 100ml aren't that expensive, the ability to make your own custom filter bags makes it even more economical. The result: the fighting fish tank is absolutely crystal clear and the fish and plants are thriving. Considering Purigen's longevity, I should have enough filter making supplies to last.
