I like these. I originally bought one pair and recently bought two more pairs so I can have a set on each of my three rack bikes instead of moving a set from bike to bike. They come in very handy for picking up non-standard loads and securing things that don't fit in your baskets/when you don't have baskets. I always leave them on the shelf in case I need them. The straps are quite long so if you don't have anything strapped on or if it's something small you'll need to tie the extra one, but I'd rather live with that than having a strap that's too short (try a pizza box on a bike rack with normal tension rope). I haven't had any durability issues and one of my kits has been in use for over a year. High visibility colors are great if that's what you're into (and I certainly am).
