When they work well, they work very well. When they don't (which they often did), they can be disappointing. They are basically plug and play as there are no client settings available. As far as I know, there are no switches, no buttons, no web interface at all. This might be a strength, but as you'll see below, this can be one of its biggest disadvantages. I use them a reasonable 15ft apart with an old thin uninsulated wall between them (damn thin I swear you can almost see through). In general it works fine, the picture is good. But I have complete video loss sometimes. Playing with the antenna alignment helps, but is very finicky about even the smallest changes in position. However, the BIGGEST and BIGGEST problem that occurs much more frequently is that I have very big problems syncing the audio/video to the video end. lags behind the video by up to 1 or 1.5 seconds which is MUCH and VERY annoying. You basically have to restart one of the boxes to fix the problem and sometimes it lasts a long time and sometimes it does it again after 10 minutes. I deal with video dropouts better than audio sync issues. This is not a source input problem and any manipulation of the source will not solve the problem. I have a feeling that if I can go in and tweak some network or system settings the problems can be solved, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to do it. I contacted iogear but unfortunately their support turned out to be almost useless. This lack of audio sync is so severe that I returned the device. There is another downside, but it's not a deal breaker. The device appears to have a bug in its implementation of CEC (or CEC pass-through, as the case may be). If you don't know what CEC is, none of this makes sense. Basically, when I turn on my TV, the device causes the TV to tune to a specific TV input instead of staying at the previous input before the TV turned off. The catch is that this isn't the correct input for the device, it's set to a completely different (but always the same) input. It's super weird. But it works ONLY when this device is connected to my TV. When I turn it off, the TV boots up normally and tunes to the last used input source, and all of these CEC devices work fine. Either way, it's a minor inconvenience after all.
