I found it almost too wide and it had a bit of trouble if your thin set is quite solid verses with trowel groves still visible. When I used the smaller chisel to break up and then used the wide chisel to clear the floor, it worked much faster. where there were still traces of putty on the thin set (not a good setup) it worked very well! I would also recommend having a smaller corner bit, like a 2" or 3". You will need it for removing tiles anyway as it is not for removing tiles only for removing thin slabs or any other application where you may need a wide blade.
