Follow the size chart and measure accurately. I LOVE this product! I've suffered from osteoarthritis in my knees for over a decade and it's gotten to the point where I can't even stand let alone walk without being in constant, excruciating pain. My doctor recommended a custom knee brace and told me it was the only way (to avoid knee replacement) to relieve the pain. Instead of spending over $1,000 for a custom fit, I decided to try the premade version. I'm SHOCKED at how well this works! I've read several reviews and it seems that most of the issues are due to the wrong mount. I followed the chart, measured several times to make sure the measurements were accurate, and settled on 24 inches. Since 25 inches is the upper limit of XL and the lower limit of XXL, I trusted reviews and trusted my measurements. and I ordered XL. It fitted perfectly and relieved me of most of the pain and discomfort immediately! I've only had it 5 days but I can walk again even these big department stores and I don't have to use those driver carts. Because one of my knees is way worse than the other, I just ordered one brace to try out. I will definitely buy more!
