Review on 🔒 Standard Plastic Latch for Igloo Cooler by Scott Larson

I thought this would work with the original fastener but the alignment didn't work. So, according to the guide, I installed a new post. After installation, I noticed that the latch lifted the lid slightly. Since screwing into the plastic is required to install a new post, reinstalling the post in the correct position will create a new hole close to the first. The repair doesn't appear to be very permanent and if it fails old holes will need patching so hopefully the post can be installed properly. Too bad a flimsy cheap plastic fastener can damage an otherwise great cooler. This is another example of the company sacrificing quality and durability at the expense of cost. Next time just put a matching metal loop on the cooler and charge me more. BEFORE INSTALLING A NEW LATCH AND RACK ENSURE THE COVER IS PROPERLY INSTALLED IN THE CLOSED POSITION!
