Review on Enhance Performance with Airaid Cold Air Intake System for 2012-2018 JEEP (Wrangler JK, Wrangler) by Brett Slater

I managed to pick this up as a special show at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari, something I've been keeping an eye on since it was announced. I installed myself at home in about an hour and took my time to make sure I got it right the first time. I didn't encounter any major hurdles getting the old one out or installing the new one, but there were still a few things to watch out for. At first the air temp sensor was a pain and I was afraid of breaking it if I pulled too hard, but I pulled it out after a few minutes of effort and prayer. Second, I wasn't impressed with the fact that I had to cut the factory part off to attach it to the new airbox, but I did it anyway and was surprised that there is quite a gap where you attach it. . I'd like to see either a part already formed and connected, or an adapter of some form that fills the gaps. I will call Airaid and see if it should be like this or if it can be fully sealed as I would like. The rest of the installation was pretty easy and looked great when it was done. I just did a test drive in a pub last night and immediately heard the difference. Leaving off-road on the main road, I heard the roar of the engine at about 3000 rpm and accelerated to 6000 rpm. I need to be more careful, but if I hit 70 mph on the toll road, I'm quite me sure my RPMs are much lower than before. Overall I'm very happy and will be monitoring my daily mileage to see what the system reports, but last night I felt like I was getting more power and at least better fuel economy. I still recommend it and am a satisfied customer. The only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is the need to cut out the factory parts which means once installed there is no going back. And since it doesn't fit perfectly, when you reattach this part you want to see a nice fit, not gaps in the airbox. Correct that Airaid and I would definitely give it 5 stars, I think it's 4 1/2 stars now but Revain won't let it.
