Big enough for 2 small birds at once

I usually steer clear of coarse food because birds have sensitive paws, but I wanted one thing in the cage for them to choose from. this helps with their little toenails and this article is for them. It's big enough for my two fishing lovebirds, Mariposa and Papillon, to climb up and swing together, which they often do, but small enough for only one bird to look forward to. I have 2 other swings in my cage besides this one and both birds prefer this swing much more. I also like that the swings are not all the same size, but different, which is better for the legs. Overall I'm very happy with this swing, the birds love it, it's safe and that's why I'm giving it a 5 star rating. Highly recommended. I wanted to include here a fresh nutritional recipe that was given to me by a breeder I have a lot of respect for (thanks Angela) just to give some tips on how to keep our pets healthier - it has nothing to do with this product at all to do that i have . discussed here, but it may give you some great ideas on how to give your bird fresh fruits and vegetables. All poultry species, especially parrots, lovebirds, parakeets, budgies, canaries, finches, kennels, etc. should be given fresh fruit and vegetables and getting them to eat can be a challenge. Try This Recipe Here is a recipe I make and it took a while to get used to but now my lovebirds and my parrots eat it when they get it. I give it in the morning and take away the leftovers in the evening. 1 apple, cored and chopped 1/2 cup chopped raw broccoli 1 chopped pepper seed including 2 grated carrots 1/2 cup chopped leafy greens (bok choy, mustard greens, kale and/or Swiss chard) 1/4 cup frozen corn (can be removed by slices of raw corn on the cob placed in treat holders/cages in the cage - all my birds LOVE it and I've 100% convinced them to eat it) 1/4 cup frozen peas 1/2 cup cooked rice (brown or GABA brown rice ) 1/2 cup cooked dried beans (soaked overnight for 8 hours) A handful of blueberries, chopped cherries, and chopped pitted grapes In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Place the ingredients in an ice cube tray and freeze. Remove frozen cubes and store in plastic bags for freezer storage. Then you can eat the perfect portion every day. They say 1 die per bird, but you may find that 1 die works well for a few birds, and if for smaller birds then for more. Instead of an ice cube tray I use freezer bags with sliders and after filling them with enough mixture I press them to the surface so I can easily break off the right pieces. This recipe is variable and you can swap out or add/remove ingredients that you have on hand or that you know your birds already like. This recipe is a SUPPLEMENT to your regular pellet and seed diet, not a replacement.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • poorly thought out
