Review on 🚲 SCHWALBE Marathon Winter Plus Tire 26x1.75 - Wire Clincher, SmartGuard, Winter, 67TPI, Black by Larry Blanco

Today I mounted these 26 x 1.75 tires and drove them 12 miles. Conditions ranged from smooth ice to densely packed snow on the ice and bare road. The ride began up a steep hill on a quiet country road that quickly turned to bare ice and snow on the ice as the road was shaded by trees. Stepping onto the ice from a bare road for the first time was pretty scary. I focused on smooth entry and balance for fear of slipping as the road has a sharp turn and I was going uphill. Soon you will find that everything is under control and you can relax listening to the spikes clinging to the ice and responding to the steering commands and nothing bad will happen. It's unbelievable how efficient these tires are. I live in a snowy country and my cars have winter tires with spikes, but I have respect for them again after driving two wheels on ice. The manufacturer recommends 25 miles on a dirt road to install the studs, but if you simply inspect all the studs before installing the tires you should be able to see and repair any studs that may not be fully installed by simply inserting them with the tip of needle-nosed pliers or a similar tool. I checked the tires when I got back and I still have all the studs. I highly recommend. I run them at 28psi to start, drop them to 25psi, no problem, no flat pinch threat, I'm close to 200psi, ready to ride.
