We have a picture backyard window that overlooks our bird feeder and swimming pool at the back of our Arizona home. Unfortunately, the midday sun creates a reflection that birds often mistake for the sky, resulting in regular bird strikes against the window. Window decals are thin vinyl with ink on one side to create a hummingbird. We had to put vinyl decals on the outside of our windows so the birds could see the hummingbird decals against the reflected image of the sky. Carefully peel off the vinyl sticker from the white backing paper. The side of the sticker that was on the white backing should stick to the window. The side opposite the white backing is the side with the inked image. Place the vinyl sticker on the paper plate with the ink side down and the side that was on the white backing facing up. Spray the decal lightly with maximum hold hairspray. Bend your fingers under the sticker to avoid getting wet hairspray on your hand and stick the sticker to the window. Use the included squeegee to gently remove excess hairspray and air bubbles between the window and decal. Use paper towels or cotton rags to remove excess hairspray. Fix the window by spraying glass cleaner onto a paper towel and wiping away any residue. I am pleased that these hummingbird decals prevent birds from colliding with our window and also make an eye-catching decoration.
