Review on Johnsens 2232 Premium DOT 3 Brake by Richard Rob

Revainrating 4 out of 5

But it works. for hydraulic oils

Flushed two cars with a gallon. Smells and looks like brake fluid. The reason for the 4 star rating is because my cheap brake fluid tester (the type that basically looks for water in conductivity 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 fluid) gives 1% for Johnson's DOT3 and 0% for Prestone indicated DOT3 - both new and sealed freshly opened containers. Johnson's 1 gallon and Prestone's 32 oz. Motorcraft DOT3 was also 0% (16 oz container) a few months earlier. I don't know if the cheapness test is particularly important, but I'd feel better if it read 0% for Johnson's brake fluid, which I used anyway - before the brake. one car's flushing fluid showed 4% (maximum), the other 3%; The former was also high (change fluid now) on the copper strip test, the latter was almost high on copper. The vehicles will be tested again in about a month after water and copper have had a chance to diffuse into the brake fluid volume; the expectation is 2-3% for water and low copper - the brake system doesn't flush well with most common methods since the caliper pistons aren't being pushed into their bores.
