Color accuracy not as advertised

I am disappointed with this light. I thought about it for a while and got bitten when there was a lightning fast deal about a third off over Christmas. I shouldn't have worried. Despite the specified CRI of "95+", the light produces a clearly perceptible color shift towards green in photos. This is unacceptable to me because I need it to work well with the light I already have, which ranges from neutral to slightly purple; It's impossible to solve a tint problem by combining two or more lights with different color shifts. Adjusting the white balance and some post-processing, but even if you can mask the obvious green cast, the colors in your photos or videos will still be distorted because the light is not emitting the correct and full spectral range. Today, just a few weeks ago, I saw another customer review that noted a shift towards magenta, also indicating poor component consistency and quality control in manufacturing. The light is a bit bright without modifiers at full power, but I wouldn't be surprised. if, after adding a softbox or an umbrella, photos or especially videos began to miss. As I bought it specifically to replace older (and much cheaper) tubes that were already having green cast issues and to increase the light output in my home studio, this unit comes back as it doesn't live up to any of my main expectations.. which I did was for. avoid it

Pros
  • Strong light output
Cons
  • Some issues
