My idea when ordering these was to be able to more easily get out the whole lot of expensive lipstick left in a tube when the stick's level sinks below the rim of the push-up container. Unfortunately, the silicone scraper just isn't stiff enough to do it. It has a metal reinforcing rod running down the center, but it stops about a half inch above the end of the scraper, and makes it pretty useless as it just bends instead of scraping. If they'd extend that metal rod a bit further, these would be great. They work well for scraping soft substances, but soft substances in a tube narrow enough to need them are pretty rare.
