Changing the blade was a very easy process. If you don't have a locknut wrench and don't want to buy one, you can use pliers to remove the locknut (the large metal ring at the bottom of the container). Here's how: Notice that the locknut has two protrusions with a gap between them.1. Take a pair of medium-sized tongs.2. Open them fully.3. The jaws should fit snugly in the gaps in the lock nuts.4. Grab the handles and turn counterclockwise to align the jaws in the gap.5. This should loosen the lock nut. (Mine wasn't tight at all) The instructions that came with the replacement blades are very good. Basically, after removing the lock nut, grab the blade with a cloth from the inside of the container and pull it out. Clean everything dirty, then reassemble in reverse order. Insert the new assembly, lightly oil the threads and tighten the locknut. You must fix the container during assembly and reassembly. It was easy enough for me to put it on the ground and lock the container with my knees. I found the whole thing fairly easy, but it requires basic coordination and skill with hand tools. Much luck.
