Keep your Vitamix looking like new! installation 5 min.

Ideal replacement for a worn blade assembly. For the installation I used the Vitamix key (sold separately). The old blade fell out. The new blade was a little tricky to install until I cleaned the threads on the locking ring. Applying a small amount of food grade lubricant to the threads helps a lot and helps prevent the threads from twisting.

original replacement; the only way.

My VitaMix 5200 was out of warranty after a few months (of course!) when it started to growl when I tried to use it. My blender is used relatively little and that shouldn't have happened. I knew it was the cutter block because the machine was silent when I turned it on without the jar and with the dry blades jar in place. Anyway, I ordered this original spare part, it was delivered the next day and again everything is fine. works smoothly. I already had a wrench to secure the assembly and I…

WILL NOT FIT VM0102D

CALL VITAMIX 1-800-848-2649 BEFORE REPAIRING! If I had done that in the first place they would have done the repair for free. The problem with the blade is that it is not warrantied and is not sold directly by Vitamix. Rewan sold. Vitamix no longer sells complete knives. I have a Costco VM0102D. This blade assembly WILL NOT WORK on this 64 oz. Low profile pitcher. The gear is too fine and grinds the ground gear and the cutter gear. First call customer service and they will do a free repair if…

Doesn't quite work

I bought this as a replacement blade for my Vitamix. This was the second blade I have purchased since replacing the original blade a few years ago. Installation is easy. A base removal tool is very helpful. The problem with this blade is that the bearings are bad. The knife rotates very roughly. Vibrations and noise are very high under load. It's definitely not normal. I've had this Vitamix for 10 years now and use it almost every day. I called Vitamix and they don't sell replacement blades so…

Looks like a poorly repaired item

The Vitamix blender itself has 5 stars; We have a large family and use the blender at full capacity 5 or 6 times a week, a workload that burns out smaller blenders in a matter of weeks. This replacement blade assembly looks like a poorly repaired item as it was noisier than the original from day one and failed after 5 months due to a jagged piece of metal sticking out of the bearings. It worked reasonably well for those 5 months, but the original endured many years of heavy use before finally…

Bearing made in China. Do not buy.

when I received this item. The blade was stiff and did not spin freely. Revane sent me another one and this blade wasn't any better, so I figured I'd have to break it. Eventually the blade broke. It hasn't even been a year since it's up and running. If you look at the black plastic bearing seal around the gear, it says CHINA in small print. So whoever makes them uses a legitimate Vitamix blade according to the ID number written on the blade and somehow assembles it with cheap bearings made in…

Original but USED and dull

Pros: - Light Vitamix knife - fits my 5200 model Cons: - NOT sharp. As dull as my own blade - squeaks when twisted/turned; makes more noise than my 8 year old knife which I replaced due to its dullness. Although clean, there are signs of wear. (Scratches, gouges, etc.) It became clear that while this is an original Vitamix blade, it is most likely a used blade that was cleaned and polished and then resold. It had obviously been thoroughly cleaned because the oil that stops it from squeaking…

Easy to replace - no need to purchase a lock nut wrench.

Changing the blade was a very easy process. If you don't have a locknut wrench and don't want to buy one, you can use pliers to remove the locknut (the large metal ring at the bottom of the container). Here's how: Notice that the locknut has two protrusions with a gap between them.1. Take a pair of medium-sized tongs.2. Open them fully.3. The jaws should fit snugly in the gaps in the lock nuts.4. Grab the handles and turn counterclockwise to align the jaws in the gap.5. This should loosen the…
