2 years later: deal, no theft

Bought these pans 2 years ago, they still work great! All in all this is a very good deal considering they are cheap. However, I think it's time for an update. I am an avid home cook and use a variety of pans to complement this set. First thing I have to say is, unless you've used stainless steel and are used to non-stick coatings, you have a lot to learn. do! Do your research and learn how to use the utensils. The most important thing to remember is to preheat the pan before adding food and use plenty of oil. If your meat sticks, that's good; just wait for it to come loose on its own to move it around in the pan. Later, you can add some liquid (water, wine, vinegar, broth, etc.) to quench or release any nice, flavorful, browned bits at the bottom of the pot. If you're a beginner, I'd recommend continuing to use non-stick coatings for delicate foods like eggs and fish. Now that it isn't, let's move on to checking. Ease of useThese pots can boil water! Ideal for preparing noodles, ramen and anything that requires a lot of liquid. The soil tends to burn if there isn't much water in it, so you'll need to stir often. I made fudge, caramel and toffee in this dutch oven and they didn't burn until the end. I'm used to it and it just means I can't clean the floor. The pan has deep sides so it traps moisture and creates less fumes than a lower sloping pan. I don't use it very often, opting instead for nonstick (for ease of use and cleaning), carbon steel, or cast iron. Again, these pans don't work as well in low humidity. The handles are weird. As a rule of thumb, pots with two handles keep one handle hot and the other cold during the cooking process, and that assumes I'm using the right size burner. The lids have ventilation holes, but still rattle loudly when the water boils. . It works as an alarm so I know the water is boiling - like a kettle whistle. Longevity I use Dutch Oven type sautΓ© pans/pans like a saucepan. They are very well maintained and would look brand new with a bit of Bartender's Friend. They're lightweight and probably won't carry much, but with normal use they hold up very well. My lid has never broken either. But the pan has a deformed bottom. Over the course of a few months or so the encapsulated soil has developed a 2 inch bubble so it does not lay flat on the panel surface. The handles are hollow, but I haven't had any durability issues. None of them bent or bent. Clean-UpFood is well received, although sometimes they need to be soaked. We have hard water so staining is inevitable and sometimes a "rainbow" effect, but with a Bartender's Friend they will shine like new. My roommate blackened the entire bottom of the pan and I expect it to come out great clean because this powder is magic. The hollow handles tend to collect water, so I let my pans dry completely before hanging. on my wall. Conclusion Whether you're the average houseman, a poor college student, or just someone who needs to boil water, I highly recommend this set. It's cheap and it works. If you're on a budget and looking for quality cookware, you should probably look elsewhere, but it's hard to be disappointed in a $45 pot set.
