If you do an A:B comparison, you'll hear that it REALLY eats up clarity and loudness. What this ceiling mount does (so far) is hold the dot hockey puck tight enough that kids hopping over it probably aren't manipulating it enough for the dot to fall out. Everything in this friction fits, both the washer in it and the plastic go into the drywall (even if you make a perfect hole). I used my own 3M double sided mounting tape to attach the Dot and will be looking for an adhesive that will stick to both plastic and drywall should the entire shebang ever fall out. What can I do. I wouldn't buy this again. Other wall mounts just have to be better, both in terms of solid mounting and the sonic limits of the Echo Dot.
