Review on Hunter Indoor Ceiling Fan Control Appliances for Large Appliance Accessories by Dan Dickey

install task. The first was DOA,

Actually two of these installed. The first had to be sent back due to a short which could not be detected until the fan was almost cranked up. The second fan works fine. I have installed many fans including Hunters and I can say that this fan design is one of the most difficult to install. The included screws for attaching the canopy to the ceiling mount are slightly oversized, which you will only realize after trying to install for 15 minutes. I ended up replacing my smaller screws and they went right in. Another difficulty is that this design requires you to install three screws upside down in holes deep inside a junction box crammed with switches and wires. It's not easy standing at the top of the stairs. a flashlight shining into the box helps. Once assembled the fan looks good and works well except the switches are very tight and one of the pull chains broke on first use. Wouldn't buy this model again.
