These little fans work great, they can actually spin and circulate air. We have two in the kitchen and one in the hall which helps keep the air moving and the rooms cool. They are fairly quiet in my opinion, but do produce some hiss/hum, especially at maximum rotation. They have a low profile. The glass is pleasantly smooth and matt. They transmit light well. This fan must be withdrawn from sale. I installed this fan (properly). The jar lid is threaded and you will be asked to twist the jar (like a jar lid) to install it. Just installed two of these. I've been a carpenter for almost 30 years and I have access to every tool you could wish for. The fans look nice and produce a nice breeze, but as the title suggests, installation was a pain. There are two main issues, one is a little fiddly and the other is a definite downside: 1. This is a Hunter fan which I generally find to be of high quality. The fan span is very small compared to most others, but it moves the air very well and the included LEDs are very bright! I installed an existing Harbor Breeze fan remote and controller I already had from an old fan and it works great.
