When I first installed this filter in my 15 gallon acrylic aquarium it spent hours spewing bubbles to clean the air. I couldn't figure out where the air was coming from so I went to You Tube and did a little research. I found out that it could be the main gasket separating the top of the filter from the bottom of the canister that isn't completely sealed. So I opened it up and lubricated the seal with coconut oil. I then pressed on the top before pinching it and that got rid of the air bubbles. It worked! I almost returned it but I'm glad I didn't because this filter works great and cleans my tank in a few hours. It has good flow and packs a lot of media.
