Review on Unlocked AMD Ryzen 7 3700X: 8-Core,16-Thread Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler - Perfect for Your Desktop Needs! by Amphai Nanthaklang ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

In the base case, you can not bother with overclocking through PBO with voltage offsets and other things, leaving everything by default, including the C-State mode. In combination with a high-performance AMD power plan (you need to install the latest version separately) in Windows, it will give more correct frequency control. By default, the result should be better than with a fixed multiplier, say, 39 (and I don’t consider increasing the BCLK frequency at all, because it makes no sense).

Pros
  • Technological processor (albeit not the most top-end with a 5nm process technology) with auto-boost frequencies for all cores out of the box (even without turning on PBO with Auto OC to exceed overclock limits and other fine settings from there). Full compatibility of the memory controller with dual rank, which the first line of Ryzens lacks, in which the boost also worked worse - only on two cores, which made manual overclocking (fixed multiplier + frequency) more attractive than here, but the results, for obvious reasons, are worse than in automatic this mode. Relatively low TDP (even lower than the 1600X I used before), which allows you to use budget cooling systems. Under load, it should not, in theory, go beyond 65 degrees (but the package temperature, which shows all 90, confuses).
Cons
  • The performance per core is lower than some of the other lineups (eg 5600X). I think the price is a little too high, after a year and a half or two years it is not particularly noticeable and is not planned.
