Bought for a trip to Europe last year. On previous trips we've found ourselves in museums, cathedrals and dimly lit restaurants or at night events where my standard 14-42 x 3.5 just wasn't able to capture the crisp shots I wanted. I bit the bullet on this trip and bought a 1.8 17mm to fix this problem. We visited Portugal and Spain and I found this lens to be a great addition to my lightweight 4/3 camera. It was easy to carry, well protected with lids and very easy to install when I needed it. The shots were great, capturing a lot more detail in low light. The wider field of view allowed me to often photograph people and places without anyone even knowing they were doing it. I always have to have it with me when I leave the house with OM-D.
