Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Enhancing Home Security: Mail Boss 7506 Mail Manager Curbside Locking Mailbox for Maximum Protection by Carson Zoberman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks and feels like a very high quality product, although water does seem to get in when it rains.

Very strong mailbox. Like most people, there was a lot of mail theft in our area, so I wanted a well-locked mailbox. After reading the reviews I decided to purchase this item and was not disappointed when it arrived. It turned out to be much heavier and larger than I thought it would be, very well made of thick steel with a good coating. There was no comparison to our old "regular" thin walled metal box which weighed nothing, it's quite heavy, over 20 pounds! Make sure your mail is in good condition. The front mailbox is very sturdy and has a full hinge on the bottom edge, I tried to get my hand through the slot and couldn't get into the main drawer. The bottom compartment has a reinforced metal welded front panel and an anti-pry feature around the lock - I find it quite difficult to open even with a crowbar. The box is also bolted from the inside, so cannot be removed without opening the bottom of the box (inbox area). It was nice that the kit included the draw bolts AND the necessary drill bit, it was really nice. box I think. It was definitely heavier and bigger than I thought so you can check the size and weight in the description to make sure it fits you, but it worked fine for me. As for the negatives, it might be that some water got in, it rained HARD this weekend and it was quite windy and I noticed that some water got into the bottom of the bottom compartment to the back, I don't know where it's coming from and if that's to be expected in heavy rain, but it has drainage holes and a liner that keeps the mail off the base so the mail isn't affected. in heavy rain as noted in the original review - maybe the last postal delivery got a little wet. My last mailbox, which cost about $20, never leaked water, so I'm deducting a star for that. I still like the box for its basic needs (stealing mail) but it's a bit inconvenient that it leaks water. Will probably need to buy a higher riser in the bottom box, the liner that came with the kit should be higher. ---- ---------- Update: It seems that the post gets wet in the rain. I've emailed mail boss support to see what I can do or where to seal but never got a reply. Overall 3 stars.
