Review on Furniture Clinic Linseed Refined Furniture by Adam Nelson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Misleading marketing of oil with desiccants

This is boiled linseed oil. However, I bought this after being somewhat misled by the bottle describing it as heated rather than suggesting desiccants were added. There are no warnings on the bottle or on their website, but if you request an MSDS from their customer service you may find heavy metal desiccants added. Additionally, their safety data sheet suggests that skin contact that is not in the bottle should be avoided. Worst of all, instead of continuing to hide this information and only making it available to customers who ask, they could just openly answer questions about Revain. They sell it as a pure product. If you want to make pure boiled flaxseed oil the traditional way without a desiccant, then you should do it. Otherwise, they should just be upfront about what they're selling and write it on the bottle and in the product information. Customer security should be even more of a minimum expectation for a business than anything else.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
