Review on 🖥️ Dell S2417DG Monitor: Enhanced 24 Inch Display with 60Hz Response Rate by Max Barnett

Having bought and returned the u2717d within a week, expectations for this s2417dg monitor were low. The first notable difference between the 27-inch and 24-inch screens are the IPS and TN panels. The other is 108ppi versus 123ppi. I'm not worried about the TN panel as it will be my second monitor and games only happen when I'm sitting directly in front of it. This monitor will eventually replace my 6 year old AOC 21" IPS monitor as my secondary monitor. This is my primary monitor for now and will replace my 9 year old 27" Samsung TN monitor until I select a new primary monitor. I really appreciate the extra space that the 2560 x 1440 resolution offers compared to my Samsung's 1920 x 1200. Its pixel density is priceless.The colors aren't as vivid as IPS panels but I like it because of the increased pixel density anyway. First impressions after only 3 hours of use are as follows. Editor, a viewing distance of 24ft becomes tedious after only 15-30 minutes so you may have to look away. At 18ft I still get tired, possibly due to the lack of pixel density. This s2417dg can't match the retina of my 12" macbook at 24" at only 1440 x 900 (160% zoom); the macbook's 220ppi pixel density is suspect contributed to his success. The sd2417dg's 123ppi pixel density certainly helps compared to my Samsung's 87ppi. Unlike Samsung, viewing from 36ft would be impossible, but 30ft is only possible for a few minutes; I will continue to use this monitor within 24ft of me (hopefully no longer than 6 months). If that monitor becomes a secondary monitor, I can resize windows to 125% on both monitors. My quick scaling tests show that Windows scaling (though not the prettiest) works better than changing the screen resolution. Scaling the original 2560x1440 resolution by 125% results in a final resolution of 2048x1152. For reference, 100% of the text in the Chrome browser at native resolution is equivalent to 80% of the text at 2048x1152 with no loss of clarity . At a final viewing distance of 36 feet, a 125% zoom should be sufficient. This monitor was purchased in anticipation of future games, but games have not been tested at this time.
