This 4 port USB switch has achieved extremely rare status and far exceeded my expectations. I'll give my opinion below, but first I'll give a summary. The 4-port USB switch features 4 mechanical pushbutton switches on the front panel. When you press a button, the previously selected button will appear and the pressed one will become active. If you want to disable all devices, you can press the new button enough to release the existing button but not enough to activate the new one and none of the devices will connect. It's all mechanical, no internal brain, so devices and direction don't matter. I use it to switch a USB hub between multiple computers and I have my keyboard, mouse and USB sound card connected to the hub. Here are some things to keep in mind when using this device. 1) This device is USB 2.0 only as it doesn't connect all USB 3.0 pins, but USB 3.0 devices should still work at USB 2.0 speeds will definitely damage something. However, the risk of this is small given the types of ports used (let's say for example you wanted to connect your PC's USB port to your laptop's USB port for some strange reason. I have no idea why you would even try). If when connecting you mistakenly think you need a male USB connector as shown here. *** DANGER: DO NOT USE THIS CABLE IF YOU ARE NOT SURE. This cable is only useful for connecting 4 USB devices to one USB port, which is the opposite of its intended use. If you try that, you can use a USB hub instead, which allows you to use 4 devices at the same time on the same USB port without having to switch between them. 3) This will increase the overall length of your USB run, and like me, USB is particularly bad at long distance runs. That's because of the physics. The wire size required for reliable long-distance 5V operation is actually almost comical. This isn't a device error, of course, but if you're already having problems with your USB devices, or you're using a particularly long cable (or an unpowered USB hub), you may be reaching the limits of your device. Again, this isn't the fault of this device, but you should be aware of it. To counter that, it would be great to see an additional power adapter, but since it's not a hub it makes sense that they don't include it. If you plan on using a USB hub with this to share multiple devices (which is my use case), I highly recommend using a powered USB hub, which should mitigate this issue. The value is 5/5, this box costs what I think it should and is better built than I expected. I'm glad I had the opportunity to purchase wireless at a discount. The build quality is 5/5, I'm very impressed with the metal body and the finish that looks like powder. I will update this if I run into any durability issues. Style - 5/5. As you can see from the build quality, the design is pretty good and should fit almost any computer desk. Draft - 5/5. what he should do, no more and no less. Being able to switch between 4 devices is great. The style of USB connectors used is also the best possible choice in my opinion. There are some additional features I would like to see such as: B. USB 3.0 support, remote control and maybe even an external power supply option. However, these features come at a price, so I'm glad they're not included. However, it would be nice to offer an updated model with these features.
