to stickiness to TENACIOUS

I put vinyl wrap over new plywood in a small bathroom. I stuck the adhesive tape around the edges of the room, around the heating register and around the toilet flange. Obviously this tape is very thin and suitable for sticking smooth surfaces, not textured ones. I found that this material is very sticky. It cuts well with scissors lubricated with a non-stick agent. I used silicone spray. Maybe Pam or WD-40 or a light coat of oil will do. Planning is important; You just can't screw up and rearrange your job. Think about the whole process. First, attach about a half inch to the edge of a piece of wood or vinyl and fold back the backing about 2 inches. Cut the tape but leave the backing intact. Fold the paper backing a few times so you have something to grab hold of. If you don't you will try to hold the vinyl and struggle to peel the paper to peel it off. Pay attention to which end you have to work from. You may need to place two pieces and work from the center to the edge. Once you get the hang of it, the technique will work very well. I've also tried using this to join two pieces of wood that are in shear. That's not very good as the glue doesn't set but flows as some have noted when installing cleats to the garage floor. He's just not made for that.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine
