I bought this scooter for my daughter because she was having trouble learning to ride a bike. I don't think she liked the idea of balancing while sitting. I thought she would be more confident if she learned to balance on a scooter. I chose this particular model because of the handbrakes, bigger tires and good reviews. My daughter loved it and rode and balanced it quickly. The next time she tried to ride a bike, she wasn't so afraid of falling and wanted to train without my help. Five minutes later she was riding her bike alone! She still enjoys riding scooters and takes turns riding her bike. My husband and I also tried riding a scooter. It was a bit scary at first, but it was so much fun that I forgot to be careful and fell. Guilty. Nevertheless, I can only warmly recommend this scooter!
