driver required! Works great.

ACROBOTIC ESP8266 ESP-01 Serial to Wi-Fi Module Programmer Compatible with Arduino NodeMCU Raspberry Pi ESP01 Wi-Fi Module What I liked: The plug-and-play design that the EPS8266 just plugs into is plugged in. Why I liked it: The programmer has other cables that need to be connected to the device being flashed. The problem is that the names of the wires do not all match, i.e. CTS, RTS. Yes, I know what the abbreviations mean; However, they have no meaning in relation to the ESP8266 pin names. Also, none of them come with instructions. Just being connected and working means A LOT. If you look for information/diagrams on how to connect other devices, you will inevitably find that you want to do additional wiring to the programming pins, ie. connected "programming mode" or hardwired EN to Vcc. In fact, all-wire programmers seem to want to connect to a breakout/programming board that meets all other requirements. It is VERY easy to plug your ESP8266 into the socket of this ACROBOTIC programmer, plug it into the USB port and press the download button. Do you understand? Pop, pop and click. bliss. Okay, there's one thing you need to know before using it. This device requires a driver that is not included. In fact, it's not even mentioned (minus one star). How to proceed: Point your browser to: https:// 14core . com/drivers/ They have drivers for many devices. You are looking for a proprietary CWH driver. Specifically the "CH340 Communication Driver" for your operating system. After downloading, trying to install and failing, I simply right-clicked the .inf file and chose "Install". After that, when you plug the programmer into the USB port, a new COMM port is available in the Arduino IDE.
