You need to know the channel callsign to find the channel you want in the list. I bought this because twice I was at home without power, communications helicopters were hovering overhead and I couldn't get any information on any radio channel. to find out what's going on. I used to search for battery operated TVs without success. This will get the job done as the phone has a battery and does not require mains power to function. I plan on keeping this in my car so I can get updates if all else fails. It should work fine for that. If you plan to use this for entertainment purposes, you'd better wait until they do a better job with their app. I don't know if this device works with other TV apps.
