Review on Matfer Bourgeat Exoglass Pelton Slotted Spatula, Gray - Professional Fish Turner, Nonstick Pan Safe by Motogp Portillo

I rarely write reviews but after using this spatula when making pancakes I was very disappointed. To my dismay, I discovered that the rotating part of this blade is actually metal covered in a thin layer of plastic-like material. How do I know? After making a batch of pancakes, I noticed that the material covering the front edge of the spatula had melted, exposing the metal underneath. After seeing this, I took a look at the non-stick pan I was using and noticed that the bare metal had peeled off the top layer of non-stick coating in several places! Needless to say, the spatula went straight in the trash. I was hoping that this item would meet my needs, given that it was ATK's number one choice, but this item clearly lacks the heat resistance I would expect from a so-called high quality product. Next time I'll look for something that shows heat resistance up to 600F, which I think a quality spatula should have.
