Review on πŸ“‘ Mcbazel SR-628 Cross Band Duplex Repeater Controller with 2 x K Plug 46-K Cable for Kenwood, PUXING, WOUXUN, and QUANSHENG by Jeff Drollinger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

FAST Plug & Play out of the box

Works well but needs adjustment to work properly. Here's what I did: 1. Someone posted a video on YouTube of their SR-xxx repeater only working when they spoke into their radio. I had the same problem. I followed the SQL setting (code ##55) in the documentation and set the squelch level on the repeater as low as possible (1). It costs 5 right away. This fixed the problem and the repeater is now working perfectly.2. Obviously change the password.3. Changed repeater mode (code ##612). For my purpose (ammo repeater) I could get by with the SR-328, but for a few extra bucks it's nice to have an inter-range capability if the zombie apocalypse ever happens. Seems to be a pretty decent unit. Simple and direct. He does what he has to do. It doesn't have too many lightbulbs wasting energy uselessly, but there are enough of them to inform the user of the codes required. Storage time will tell.

Cons
