First let me say that I work late so I don't wake up until there is no sunlight and I use blackout curtains to sleep. Waking up to "sunshine" without having to get up and open the blackout curtains seemed like a good way to wake up. It is marketed as a natural awakening method. I found nothing natural in that light. It gets brighter over the course of 10 minutes (more if you set it higher), but the initial light is orange. Never in my life has the sunlight coming through the windows at dawn been orange. Then the brightest light setting is a bright yellow rather than the almost white that mimics daylight. The light seeping through the sides of my sunglasses was brighter than this thing, so it didn't tell me anything. I am amazed at all the 5 star reviews. I guess it's either the placebo effect or people getting up before dawn. However, I don't see how a bright orange room would emerge naturally when it's still dark outside. Another thing is that Alexa doesn't turn this thing off. It synced well but none of the commands work on it. To be honest I didn't spend much time on it as I found the light was useless anyway. In theory this is a great idea, but they could mimic a sunrise better. Just another trick.
