My kitchen sink faucet has a detachable spray head and none of the adapters work. I went to Home Depot and after looking around I got a "MHT 3/4" x 1/2" MIP Brass Adapter" to make it work. In order for it to drain you need to turn on the faucet full force so the suction has enough power to pump water and first you need to put the end of the cylinder in the water in a certain way for it to work. If you live in areas with water scarcity, this water drainage method is not recommended because you basically have to keep the faucet open at the same time so that it can drain the water. I also find it helpful to cut the tubing to make suction easier. Adding water is pretty easy and works great.
