Review on 🖤 De Buyer La Mandoline Swing - Black by Sheila Smith

I have never used a mandolin. I thought it would be useful for me to cut and chop vegetables for frying. The tool is well made and the blades are very sharp, except I haven't had any luck with blades other than the straight plane. Very good for straight cuts - fast and precise. It's a lot easier than trying to make tiny slices with a knife. It's also very secure. The trigger mechanism keeps your fingers off the blades. I've made some wonderful dishes using thinly sliced potatoes and onions. I've tried carrot roast sticks and have had limited success - maybe it depends on the shape of the veg and how it's placed in the hopper. Overall, I think we will benefit greatly from this. My training in the use of the mandolin is not yet complete, but I am sure that I will find other uses over time. This is a great kitchen tool for the price, easy to clean and attractive too!
