I've been using it for 40 years and it works.
A full glass of grape juice on a thick carpet. Immediately use an old towel to cover the stain and collect all of the carpet sap. Then spray on as directed and pat dry with paper towels or a cloth. Did the first 24 hours a few times. And there are no stains on my light beige carpet.
