As a software developer, I type a lot. I also work in a relatively dark office. Over the years I developed carpal tunnel syndrome and nerve damage in both elbows, mainly from typing on non-ergonomic keyboards. Given my situation, I was looking for a quality, ergonomic keyboard with backlit keys. I've narrowed down the (incredibly meager) options to the Kinesis Cloud Nine C989 keyboard. I chose the Cloud Nine product because it didn't require additional purchases for a tent and number pad. I'm so glad I chose this keyboard because I love it! Cherry MX's red switches have a crisp feel and offer comfortable typing resistance. The angle of the tent is perfect, the lighting is great and the lighting control software is great. Although I bought this keyboard as a tool, I use it daily and am happy to have such an aesthetic and fun addition to my development environment. Simply put, this is the best keyboard I've ever had, and I've had quite a few over the last 28 years! I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone and everyone.
