Review on πŸ”’ CR Brophy Machine Works Heavy Duty Tie Down with HSSF Brophy Black Finish by Sean Spence

durable but poor design

They are made of high quality steel. But the design is very bad. They claim these are the correct mounts for 15 GMC 2500's. Well they "fit" but a lot of problems. They make screws that need to be tightened from behind. This is very inconvenient as there is almost no space, so the work takes much longer (use a ratchet or you will go crazy). Once installed and properly tightened, if you lift the outer end of the bracket (where your RV's anchors attach) you can watch the inside of your bed and bed rails flex. This is my real bed, no sheet. Internal T-beams, as they call them, have to be much larger to distribute the load in this type of structure. The double tape they use on the foam pads is just disappointing - the backing doesn't come off properly when I pull the tape on it, I ended up having to tape them onto the T-bars as I didn't have enough of what I don't know as to why the bindings aren't in stake pockets - seems like a much stronger place for them to be, but apparently you can't do that after the late 2000s. If I had time to wait for another set made differently I would send them back and get a different style. To update:. After several trips with them, they damage the plastic cap on the back of the truck. And also scrapped at the insienobthr bed itself.
