The installation was easy, but you have to take your time and be careful where the screws are, otherwise you can scratch the board. My old cooler is the Noctua nh-l9i so I will compare it for this test. Idle cooling is 34°C, same as Noctua, while gaming doesn't go above 65°C (non-CPU games average 56°C), similar to Noctua. Torture tests with Prime95 for 15 minutes brought temperatures up to 78°C on some cores, which is 5°C higher but well below the 100°C threshold for the used I7-8700, so that's good. The fan noise is actually a bit louder than with the Noctua, which surprised me positively. I was expecting a louder fan, but quite quiet for a cheap cooler. The RGB backlight is bright for a 4-point backlight. Colors are good, but for RGB fusion motherboards you'll need either a 2.0 board or an effects controller hub, or you can use the included hub for limited effects. Height issues, if you have 45.5mm clearance for RGB RAM or tall heatsinks over 36mm in height, you must remove the heatsink knuckle before installing or removing it safely. At the temperatures I've had in a well-ventilated case, I'd only recommend this for processors that aren't overclocked (mostly not K), so 85W TDP processors (65W for ITX builds) (third gen or higher) if you don't need a processor exceeded 90s. I bought these because of the RGB lighting and the price. Overall this is a great product for the price but as said before take your time with the installation and be careful with the screws during installation so you don't scratch the circuit board.
