Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Efficient 10 Ft Outdoor Extension Cord: Power Block with 16/3 Durable Green Cable for Christmas Lights by Matthew Rodenbaugh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent, the best in electrics yet

If reading this review still gets five stars then you should know that the cable has held up from the date of this review until then. If that doesn't work I will update and downvote this review. I purchased a cable to run the last 20 feet from a professionally installed switch outlet to an outdoor "water feature" fountain, also purchased from Revain. The line runs under Xeriscape gravel and a steel edge knife between gravel of two different colors. To reduce the risk of damage from pressure from people walking on gravel I cut open the old tube, split it around the cord and then sealed the gap with silicone caulk and a couple of strategically placed velcro straps. The result is probably not waterproof, but I don't think it should be. The cable will remain outdoors and buried in the gravel indefinitely, although I plan to put the fountain in the garage for the winter. The only consequences of its failure, in my opinion, are the tripping of the RCD or a separate circuit breaker for the outlet. I don't expect that, but it all depends on how well the cable withstands both frost and hot weather, and is fully protected from direct sunlight, rain and wind. So pay attention to the date of this review and the date you read it. If it's still five stars, the cable lasted so long. Having carefully inspected its construction and placed it in a place where it will never be bent or twisted, I expect it to last at least five to ten years.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Weight
