This hourglass is so pretty - I was expecting it to be "normal" but I didn't expect it to be so heavy and well made. I was impressed by the thickness of the glass - it doesn't break easily and the weight of the metal - I wasn't expecting it to be so strong - I thought it was very brittle and was afraid it would break. Now I'm not worried at all - I have a feeling that it can fall, withstand the load and be fine after hitting the ground. My son didn't think it would actually last an hour so they did an experiment and watched the full 60 minutes and it was right. I have always loved this hourglass and am very happy with this purchase - I plan to put it on a piano and display it with some of my favorite knick knacks! Great value for money - it was exactly what I wanted and more
