Review on Sceptre C275W-1920R: Immersive Curvature Display with Built-in Speakers, Metallic 🖥️ Finish and HD Resolution, Supports DisplayPort and HDMI, 75Hz Refresh Rate by Paulo Hoelzle

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Rolled the dice, got snake eyes.

Like most modern electronic devices, you take risks and hope for the best. I wasn't lucky this time. The backlight is very translucent, with two glowing LEDs in the lower left corner. There appear to be scratches on the back of the screen that look like large hairs. Quality control failed on this device. The frame feels flimsy and cheap. Assembly is easy, but do not use the small screwdriver provided, it is not long enough and too small to get a good torque. You can tilt the screen forward or backward, which is nice. The brightness setting out of the box will blow your mind. If you use one of the presets, you cannot adjust the brightness or backlight, so you must use the "Custom Definition". I am using a display port so you need to change the setting on the PC to get 75Hz which is very helpful. I just got the monitor so I'll keep playing with the settings and trying to get the best picture. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this monitor, but I don't want to mess with returning it, and Fallout 4 plays pretty well on it. Update: After playing around with the settings, I found that the "Cinema" preset works best. for me. If it weren't for the 2 LEDs in the corner I would have given it a higher rating, I don't know if it happened during shipping or something QC missed. Update: pixel error.
