I use these on my Felt Cyclocross bike when commuting to work on some truly amazing Wisconsin roads that are somewhere on the bump scale between the surfaces of Mars and the Moon. I usually run cyclocross tires but the rolling resistance can be quite high. I have an extra set of wheels that my 25mm high pressure street tires run on to ride with others who have real "road bikes" but these things will shake your fill if you use them here every day for 6 months drive a year. So it's a great compromise between spiked mud tires and racing slicks. I wouldn't run them on gravel as they really are medium pressure street tires. I could definitely use them on a loaded touring bike for road use. The sipes are excellent and the compound they are made of offers excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions. My first ride on them was a fast 55 mile ride on Saturday morning in 60 degree sunny weather and the difference between these and my other previously mentioned tires was immediately apparent. Rolling resistance was significantly reduced, but they still smoothed the road like I was riding on silk. The second trip was an early morning drive to work in the rain in 42 degree weather. These tires were also excellent. I can't comment on durability or puncture resistance as both seem to be very subjective to individual riders more than individual tires based on the hundreds of reviews I've read of various road tires. The wheelset I mounted them on was a set of 29" Mavik disc hubs that I bought for cyclocross use, but they were originally designed for a 29" mountain bike. Installing it on the rims wasn't a problem and I didn't no. The leverage of the tire is required, although it's probably easier for most people to pry the last two to three inches off the rim with something other than their thumbs. wasn't a problem, as I'm sure any touring road bike or mountain bike will be. The reflective stripe on the sidewall works great and looks really cool on my flat black and white bike in daylight. At night it glows from a few hundred meters up, as soon as they are illuminated by car headlights. I'm 160 pounds and my bike is 20 pounds and I usually cater to an 8 pound backpack for those of you who want to know how much load they can handle. I air them. up to the maximum on the side wall. Overall I was very happy with these tires. My average speed with them is about 14mph for 6 miles to and from work. And on my longer leisure weekend rides, maintaining 16mph is no problem when the wind helps. So if you are looking for them to commute, travel or just to replace a set of general purpose bike tires that you use on the road, I think you will be very satisfied. If you drive thousands of miles on gravel roads without expecting a flat tire, or expect hundreds of miles on ultralight race tires, or if you think a set of these tires should last a multi-year Tour de World, then you probably haven't been very lucky be with it. But then these people don't seem happy with tires other than the ones they replace.
