Review on StowAway Hitch Tightener: USA-Made Stabilizer for 2 Inch and 1.25 Inch Hitches by Jordan Ford

I'm buying a StowAway hitch wrench to work with the CURT load carrier that I ordered at the same time. This was my first time using a cargo/trailer hitch so I was really unfamiliar with many of the terms and potential issues discussed in the reviews and Q&A. In one of the reviews, a person recommended this clutch tensioner. After installing the cargo basket I tried wiggling and bouncing the cargo basket and as stated in the review there was a lot of play. . way more than I want to be driving across this country on Interstate 80 at 75 mph. I installed this clutch tensioner according to the instructions with no problems. I tested it in my garage and also on the street. . . dramatic improvement. . Very easy to install and also remove from cargo basket/or trailer. Very good quality for heavy applications. PS - As you can see in the picture I also bought and installed a locking pin. Since the cargo basket I bought was very light, I felt it was very vulnerable to possible theft, which is why I bought it. Remember, and you can see, if a pro wants to steal your trunk or trailer, they can. . The locking pin stops accidental theft, deters, delays or even alerts to theft in progress. .
