So far I have studied my experiences with this cutting mat very carefully. I've used it extensively to measure and carve my craft projects and haven't had much trouble with it. I really didn't want to mess with the printed gauges, but they've proven surprisingly useful. The board itself shows only light welts from many uses in the same area but definitely retains a self-healing aspect. screwed up early. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a sign that something will happen to the rest of the inscriptions and lines. All in all it seems a solid one (at least the meat itself) that warrants a solid purchase.
